Great Kids Farm provides opportunities for Baltimore City school students to understand and participate in every aspect of food preparation - from seed to fork - and prepares them to lead 21st century sustainability efforts.

• We believe that teaching students to grow, harvest, and prepare wholesome food can improve their health, nutrition, and readiness to learn.
• We see children digging in the soil, planting seeds, tending animals, and engaging with their peers as a transformational learning experience.
• Teaching students now how to care for what they eat and where it comes from can translate into a healthier planet and is essential to ensuring a more positive future for them - and their communities.
• We believe that feeding children healthy food is the single most cost effective way to enhance educational achievement and combat the growing problems of childhood obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
• We are confident that exposing students to career opportunities in the expanding agricultural, environmental services and natural resource management sectors can broaden their career options and instill in them a sense of being part of a larger good.
• We recognize that it 'takes a village' to feed children well at school. The commitment, time, resources, and talent of parents, educators, donors, and community members transform our vision into a daily reality and build a stronger community around our kids.
